Photographing birth.

My first passion, in high school was photographing. My Dad really enjoyed photography, and had some beautiful old cameras. When I took my first class, I knew I was home.
After wondering around a state school, I went to New England School of Photography, in Boston. Another, ahh I at home experience. I really loved doing abstracts, and portraits.
I didn’t know what to do after that, I traveled around, found my daughters father, and realized I was going to have a baby.
We decided to go to California, and the rest is destiny.
I found the most amazing Mid-Wives ever (I stand by this statement). And continued, in Humbolt county, by the ocean, to deliver and baby girl, who turned out to be Maya Blue.
After moving to Portland I discovered, I couldn’t be a midwife, I didn’t want to be a Doula, so why don’t I just photograph Births, and Pregnancy.
This turned out to be the thing.
I love it!
The first birth I ever did, rebirthed me. And I knew just how wise mid-wives are. Very. Because being where a person manifests itself. It is like nothing else, and changes the world for me every time.

I love photographing outside with natural light. I see women come to be photographed, and completely unfurl like a flower, opening and becoming. All mothers should be pampered in this vulnerable time. – Jennifer
Beauty is the element that when embraced, leads to a deeper inner strength.
